I know I shouldn't do this at all...and I definitely know I shouldn't be talking about it but here I go anyway, maybe there's some others that are with me on this.
So sometimes when I come across a video that I love, but no longer has my vote because of the siftpocalypse, I vote it up again even when I know I voted for it once already. It's like for all those times I wish I could upvote a video twice, I now can. Who else is being naughty?

Is * reclaimvote smart? Can it 100% confirm that we actually voted for the video already?
If we didn't vote already, will it tell us?

What will happen if we enter * reclaimvote and we haven't voted previously? Let's say, we remembered voting but was mistaken and actually didn't. Will Sifty tell us or will we just claim a current vote that was cast by someone else?

I say it's better safe to give a vote than to take one away...Plus by now these are all archived crap...nobody cares if it has 200 votes with 50 of them being revotes...obviously people either didn't remember voting for it before or just really loved the video. I'd say 90% of the time I don't remember so I just upvote it instinctually, 5% of the time I'm unsure if I did or not, so I give it an upvote because it's better than reclaiming if I hadn't upvoted and 5% of the time I'm sure I've seen the video here and loved it but I can't help but click that upvote. Let's face it, it doesn't matter at this point.

You can't do it to your own video...lucky made it so that the person who posted the video automatically gets 1 vote assigned to them...so IN YO FACE!!!

Reasons for using reclaimvote:
-Don't do it
In all fairness I've been trying to come up with reasons upvoting would hurt the sift. The only thing I can come up with is if I upvote a pqueued video I had already voted up. That might send it to the first page without earning an actual 10 unique votes.
If you don't recall voting, it should be acceptable for you to go ahead and cast your vote, however if you're certain that you did vote, please do not intentionally cast another. It makes siftbot angry, and you wouldn't like him when he's angry. (The last time he got angry we had the Siftpocalypse of 3/11 that caused this whole problem in the first place.)
Second chance at upvotes is what caused the whole mess to begin with. Siftbot was out of ideas on trying to get this vid to the top 15.

I cant stand the idea of having a comment thread filled with reclaime, and siftbots acknowledgment of it. If the invocation was hidden, like amazons invocation, I would use it. Im sorry, but I'd rather double vote than clog up the comment thread.
But it is hidden. All comments containing only "*reclaimvote" and also siftbot's replies to these comments are purged from the system every once in a while. I don't see the problem of them clogging there for only a couple of hours.

The older videos were better and there were less voters so it's all good.
